Greetings, and welcome to Sonic Junction; Corey Harris here. I'm looking forward to sharing some music together. To get you started, here is a little about my teaching approach.
As a self-taught musician, I have developed, over the years, a layman's approach to teaching blues: easy to learn, understand, and execute. I teach beloved blues classics -- breaking down each song into multi-lesson series with detailed instruction on various aspects such as the intro, rhythm and bass, key riffs and melody, right and left hand techniques, soloing and lastly vocals and endings. As I have spent my life studying the masters of blues, I can show you how to get the sound of some favorite blues heroes, as well as licks from my personal arsenal.
I structure my lessons at Sonic Junction the same way I teach one-on-one, where students learn and ask questions. Learning at Sonic Junction provides you the give-and-take of my private lessons and masterclasses -- I personally answer each posted question and personally view and comment on every student video.
I give a new lesson at Sonic Junction every Friday. Each lesson will have my video, song/lesson overview, tab, and looping tracks. To access your lessons anywhere, use our iPhone/iPad app. You can get my personal feedback at any time by asking a question or posting a video of your playing. I encourage you to post your work! -- it's fun and a great learning tool.

To get you started, please check out my free sample lesson: 44 Blues.
In this lesson we will begin learning .44 Blues by Howling Wolf, one of my favorite old blues tunes. In the first lesson I demonstrate how I play the song, then I break it down slowly so that you can see what is going on. As always, take your time. Listen carefully and get it in your head before you try to play it. I look forward to hearing from you all.
