Greetings Social Music Makers of the Guitar Variety!
We're back with another Lead Belly classic, Bring Me a Little Water, Sylvie. In this lesson we're going to take a look at how to separate ourselves from the flatpick and begin to get comfortable with a naked strumming hand. As it turns out, the hand is an amazing tool when it comes to playing guitar!! Picks are awesome, of course, but there's no end to what any combination of fingers and a thumb can achieve with our six strings. This song is a conversation between someone working in the field and, in the case of Lead Belly's version, his wife. Along the way the big chorus was added for group singing. Let me know how this one works for your playing. At the very least let me know if you love the song itself as much as I do!
