Greetings My Fine Four-Stringed Friends! Here we are today with a classic African-American gospel tune known as The Welcome Table. We'll be in the key of G playing the I, the IV, and the V (G, C, and D, but you knew that!) with an Em and B7 thrown in to lift it up a notch. We'll take a look at some simple but energetic riffs that'll help drive the tune and of course we'll talk about how this can work for group singing. This song is close to my heart, I recorded it with The Blind Boys of Alabama, it was one of the most unforgettable sessions I've ever been a part of...and now I have the pleasure of showing you just one of the many ways this song can be played! Let me know what you think....
