Greetings Lovers of All Things Guitar! Here we are again with the Sister Rosetta Tharp Classic, Up Above My Head. Last week we looked at the Dm and Gm bar chords. This week we’ll cook up some embellishments this should lift an already great song up to higher heights. As you can see, it’s getting more important that we understand a few simple things about chords in order to create some of the moves that are based off the basic shapes. We’ll do a 2 finger lick on the E and A strings and work on some bass runs and by the end of this lesson I think you’ll be ready to take this out to any gathering where people are hungry for singing. It’s the music, it’s the message, and it’s the way we play it. When these points are covered we’re well on our way to making some extremely satisfying Social Music!
Thank you for the comments so far…and the rest of you, don’t be shy! Let me know how you’re doing with this!!
