Hello My Musical Makers and Shakers! Here we are again, filling our songbag with some incredible American Social Music. This time it’s the beautiful Will The Circle Be Unbroken. I learned it from The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band and came to love it even more when I heard The Staple Singers take it on. We’re in the key of D in this lesson and will explore some chord additions that will add a swinging feel to the song and then we’ll look at how we can finger pick this for a quieter approach - quieter without losing energy. I’d strongly recommend that you memorize the lyrics to this one. It’s so liberating to have them in your head when the time comes for some real social music making. Are you finding people to jam with??? Let me know how you’re doing - the guitar players, in a bizarre break with the stereotype have been more vocal than the use players here at the junction!
