Hello Folks,
This week we start working on the blues classic, Ain't Nobody's Busniess. An early Bessie Smith tune that has become a standard for decades now. We are doing it in Bb which suits the tune fine. The progression is like many blues of the 1920s, it is 8 bars in form and has nice changes. This kind of song is really fun to play. I demonstrate how to build it by occasionally playing a 12/8 right hand pattern on the turn around to suggest more intensity coming up. So learn the chords as I teach them and we will work on the melody next.
Enjoy!
Duke
