We're re-issuing one of Duke's most popular lessons with re-mastered video and updated loop points. From Duke:
Hello Folks, the first lesson on my song "Cookin" is learning the chords and working on a organ style shuffle rhythm which actually is derived from the 20s dance "the Charleston" believe in or not. The first beat being on the 1 and the second beat being anticipated to create that rhythm that goes so well with a shuffle. The rhythm here is simple and just makes a nice pad for the soloist. Also the 13th chord voicings sound nice and can be introduced later in the solo to make it build. I have introduced the #5 also as a passing chord to the 4 chord here.
Enjoy!

Hi Duke, band rehearsals cancelled because of corona. But I feel lucky to have some home Cookin' to do. Great tune, great rhythm. Many thanks.
