Hi Folks,
This week we are finishing up the second solo chorus for Grand Slam. Once again Paul gives you the notes and chord shapes that the phrases are built off of to help you understand the ideas in Charlie Christian's solo here. Paul finishes up by playing the entire chorus at 155 beats per minute. Not quite the Goodman tempo but fast enough for it to swing.

I have experimented with different intros and after locking in with the Charlie/Benny version, I've come to really like Paul's intro.
Still working on the tune -- I can play it at about 94% of the original speed, but that last 6% is really tough! However, the journey of a thousand intervals starts with the first step. ;-) Hope to have a video soon.

there is more to this song than meets the ears. I am hearing the occasional 4 after the 5 with a piano bass runs back to the one. i also have a different into which i am hoping to upload this weekend. Charlie may play the accents after the 24 clarinet solo, up at the 13th fret roughly (Dm/Dm7b5/DmC9)
