Duke Robillard Lesson >

Jumpin' Blues > Intro Breakdown

This lesson concentrates on learning the head to Jumpin Blues. I have arranged it simply with single notes, double stops and 3 note chord fragments to replicate the reed section parts and we also learn the brass section answers with 6th chords and a cool way of picking to make the ooh wah sound of a brass section with fanning with metal derbies.

It's a very fun thing to play and learn and I look forward to hearing you all play it!

Enjoy,

Duke

I've loved Duke's version of this song for a long time. I'm thrilled to be able to experience his detailed demonstration and explanations how to unravel the mysteries of how he created the whole piano and horn intro and head on guitar- thank you!
