Hello Friends,
This week we are Working on soloing on Texas Flood. Instead of doing a set solo I have chosen to show you a number of riffs that fit in the style of the song. I use my fingers instead of a pick to reproduce a sound similar to Fenton Robinson on the original Larry Davis version. I demonstrate many licks in that style and how to play and use them along with a few Albert King licks a la Stevie Vaughn. I talk at length about soloing on this tune and my views on playing a raw slow blues. Please send us some videos of you playing Texas Flood. Let me see you go for it!
Enjoy, Duke
