Hello Folks,
This week we tackle the solo for "The Things I Used To Do" straight from Guitar Slim. It actuality it's a very simple solo but try and get it to sound like him and it's not so easy. First of all remember if you really want to cop that Slim vibe you MUST use a capo on the first fret. Playing with your fingers instead of a pick is an important part of capturing that wild sound. There are certain phrases here that are the pillar of Slim's style and it's not so much the notes but how they are played and the value they are given that makes them so powerful. So play close attention to my instructions and the details and you'll be on your way to getting the Guitar Slim style down.
Enjoy!
