Your Teacher

Jerry Portnoy is an award winning musician, artist and instructor. Jerry was a member of the fabled Muddy Waters Blues Band from 1974 to 1980 followed by another six years as a leader of the Legendary Blues Band with Pinetop Perkins. In 1991 Jerry joined Eric Clapton's All Star Blues Band.

Jerry played harp on three Grammy Award Winning albums: I'm Ready by Muddy Waters, Muddy Waters Live by Muddy Waters and From the Cradle by Eric Clapton.

Jerry's 3 CD Masterclass has been the definitive learning tool for blues harmonica for the last 20 years and he has lectured at the Berklee School of Music.

What you will Learn

Jerry is teaching blues harmonica. The lesson series is best suited for people that have a few months experience playing the harmonica and want to take their playing to the next level. A typical goal is to be able to play the harp with friends, play at a local jam or develop the ability to improvise your own solos. The program has three main parts:

1. Masterclass on Technique

2. Songs of the Masters

3. Personal Feedback and Discussion with Jerry

How you will learn

Jerry teaches a song a month in four weekly lessons. Each lesson is a 5 to 10 minute video with automated loop / practice points for key riffs, practice exercises and slowed down solos. Jerry's online during the week to answer questions and give you personal feedback from your uploaded videos.

We have two memberships, Monthly at $19.95 / month and Yearly at $199.50 / year. It works out to about $4 or $5 a week.

Does taking the tour obligate me to purchase a subscription?
