In this first verse of my piece, Blue Strollin', we cover a lot of ground, but the good news is, it's all stuff you'll have lots of opportunity to work on throughout the song. The "head" has us skipping around on the harp just a little bit and doing small variations on the initial lick. There's some tonguing for texture, some minimal venturing into the third octave on holes 7 and 8. There's also some "trills", bends, note shaping along with some cool use of space - In short, we'll be working with most of the stuff you want to have in your toolbox in order to make your harp playing sound like the blues.

Fantastic! Thank you.
Thank you! Glad you like it - Have fun with it.
Hi Rick !! i d like to know , do you just feel the groove and sing the base line or you count in your head ??
to me it s like you just feel the groove and play the line ??
Hey Andre - I'm just groovin' - If I focused too much on counting, I'd just get confused.
that's one great song, the melody really sticks in your head. To me it sounds like you're doing some tongue blocking or tongue slaps. Am I right? Thanks for a great lesson.
Hi Boyd - I'm probably tongue-blocking the whole time.
