Very cool. I too copped this about 25 years ago and have been doing the triads and double stops slightly different. This sounds more rich and full. Can't wait to work through this.
I saved that plastic record for years. Thank you for working on this one. This is without a doubt my favorite recording of Jimmie Vaughan. It's nice to see him work this arrangement and your styles are different enough to give it a dash of salt & pepper. Jimmie's playing is a perfect example of "it's not what you say, it's how you say it", his tone and feel are spiritual. Since it's not his composition I think he resorted to using those tools in his box in order to execute. Duke you are spot on as well, the track of yours that opened up the heavens for me was T Bone Boogie, I studied that religiously and learned it note for note, slowing it down on a reel to reel tape back in the day since we didn't have all the fancy computer tools like the Amazing Slow Downer or transcription tools we have on PC's now.
Rick Estrin is in the house! Now this is a party. Great to see you up there on the big screen Rick.
Thanks Steve! I'll be back at the party with some new stuff pretty soon!
Thank you Duke. It's always nice to escape from life and enjoy one of your lesson's online.
