Thanks Jerry....I am seeing quite a bit of progress by using the "Skatting" technique in combination with the backing track. As I learn and embed the licks deeper into my vocabulary I will attempt to post a better try.... I asked if there was a way that (we) could get the backing tracks to be Mp3 friendly so one can practice with them away from the computer??? Is that a possible?
I am seeing a lot of progress in my timing...not there yet but the jam tracks are producing a better feel and helping me to relax a little more better, blueswise, if you know what I mean.....
I played this tune to the best of my ability at an opem mic last week and the crowd went wild!! Thanks Jerry and Rick...Now if we could only get some recordable (Mp3) tracks with Rick playing guitar and singing and Rick playing guitar and (not) singing, we could all learn to sing and take our recorded backing tracks to the picnic!!! THX again....Tommy Hutch
Jerry...My first attempt at "My Babe".... There are a few places that I don't quite get yet but I really like the tune... On the intro to the solo>>> da da da dump, ending on the 4 draw>>>can you also fattin up the slap on the 4 draw by adding the octave? Thanks Tommy Hutch
Jerry.......That is one of my favotites for sur...Thanks much!!! My only question is cosidering the Walter version where he is singing the vocals and playing the harp; am I, if I plan to do the vocals, just adjust the timing of the harp response accordingly? I just noticed that on some verses, after Mike sings the line, you sometimes come in early with the harp response.......Thanks again....Wonderful lesson....Tommy Hutch
