Hi Duke, I really love this song and Little Milton's style. Simple yet very expressive and powerful. Listening to myself playing, I think I tend to lose the sense of timing when I do not stop and listen. Should probably work on that.
Duke, I will attempt this soon but I just wanted to thank you for going outof your comfort zone to learn something new yourself to teach the crowd here. Just goes to show how dedicated and passionate you are. Thanks!
Mike, thanks! I really enjoy the tone from just fingers these days, tho you can't pick up speed. duke's lesson on Guitar Watson style really helpeD. I don't use any effects, just direct through my fender blues deluxe.
Hi Duke, BB is one of my favorites and the ideas you give in these lessons are truly unique. I agree with you that one needs to go back to the beginnings of an artist to understand his/her style. Your lesson goes way beyond the infamous BB box and does justice to the style of the legendary man.
I tried to take you ideas and blend into my style. Unfortunately it's not exactly the way you played it, I need to work on my phrasing. I combined the backing track and my video after the recording and it was quite a tedious task to match the beats. Still sounds a tiny bit off. Also sorry about the 10sec blank stare in the beginning. Looking forward to your feedback.
Hi Duke, thanks for this one. Albert is one of my all time favorites! Listening my recording I notice my timing is off, which is my typical problem. I had to do the second verse twice and I keep forgetting the end of it and had to make something up for the last 2 bars of the second verse.
Thanks Duke. I've purchased the album and been listening to Alligator Boogaloo on my ipod to work. Great song. It's great to hear these references from you, really helps :)
I'll try to do a version on my electric this week. Here's the song on youtube.
Hey Duke, here's my poor attempt at it.. I usually play electric with a pick but for this one I really couldn't get the pick to work and liked the sound from my fingers better. The backing track was really too fast for me to play over, so I had to alternate between rhythm, head and solo a little bit. Listening it over I feel that I need to put a lot more effort, especially i seem to lose the boogaloo feel and cannot keep the time going back and forth between comp and solo. looking forward to your comments.
Thanks for the Route 66 lesson. That's been one I've wanted to learn for a long time and I like your 13th chord runs. It's tough to get the phrasing of the chromatic run, very catchy though.
Just wondering if you will cover any of the Freddie King and Albert Collins styles at some point. I have your video from 10years or so ago where you cover Freddie's style, but anything beyond that would be greatly appreciated.

great job
And here is first solo chorus. Hope Finland is treating you well Duke!
Here's my attempt at San-Ho-Zay head.

Thanks Tony! Duke
Duke, thank you for your feedback. Your wisdom is much appreciated. I'll work on relaxing the beat like you say.
