We're re-issuing one of Dennis's most popular lessons with re-mastered video and updated loop points. From Dennis:
Hi Everyone - This week we dive into the second chorus of my third position tune "Boxed Up". One thing I want to mention is whenever you break down a song to learn, the three main parts are the notes used, the phrasing, and the techniques used. I use several different techniques in this song (trills, octaves, tongue trills, etc) and if/when you come across a technique that is new for you, you don't want to worry about getting it right away. Make any new technique an exercise unto itself, and before you know it (with regular practice) you will be ready to use it in context. Remember not to be hard on yourself while learning new techniques and to have fun with the new song!
- Dennis
