Hi Duke,
Hi Duke,
Here is my rendition of Flyin Home with your backing track !
Hi Bruce, It's actually very good. You have almost all the correct notes. It is mostly a question of relaxing it seems to "get in the groove" With myself, the guitar I'm playing for that style really matters a lot to me. I can't help but wonder if you plasyed it on a guitar with a bit heaver string if that would help feel a little more comfortable. You have all the riffs, it just sounds a little like you are maybe trying too hard. Also sometimes the front melody is easier to play at the 11th fret octave. I'd try lightening up my touch with the right hand, maybe try playing it on a guitar with bigger frets or a bit heavyier strings and most of all, sit back and relax and just let it come out. You'll get comfortable with it I'm sure. You are really close Bruce..... now sit back and try it a bit lighter
Wow, you've given me a lot of things to consider! Thanks a bunch, Duke! I'll definitely try it at the 11th fret. That opening riff does make me very nervous! Sometimes when I go to play it, my fingers freeze up with tension -- and then I have to have a little chat with them; tell them stories, give them cookies, that sort of thing. ;-)
But I really want to give this one my best rather than just say "oh, it's good enough", and move on to the next tune like I usually do. I think that's one of my "barriers to break through" with guitar. Thanks again for the advice and encouragement! My fingers thank you and I thank you.
Hello Duke! It's been two years since and I've been continuing to work on this one. So here I am, longer in the tooth, beard and hair! ;-) Definitely older, but hopefully wiser and a better player. I feel like my playing is much more musical. Hope you agree, and would love to hear your thoughts on this. Thanks, Duke! Best, Bruce
I've been working and working on this one. It's still a little stiff sounding, but it's better each week. My poor wife has heard me to this thousands of times by now, but she's a very good sport about it. ;-)
I think I've got it to the point where I'm ready for some feedback. It's not my absolute best yet, but it does represent a lot of effort. Thanks Duke!
Bruce
So I'd messed around with this tune a bit before the lesson but I tried to take a few ideas from the different solo lessons and from Charlie's solo, and combine them with some of my own. Thanks for the fantastic lesson on such a great tune, Duke!!

Hello Duke, hello guys..this is my final version of this great tune! I try to include some of yar liks Duke and create some nice melody like you use to do ..thanks for the lessons,.hope you enjoy my record, tank You..ciao, Mattia ;)

Cool transition / chord line around 1:22 --- I only wish the video was better. We're you using the webcam recorder?
