Hi Folks, This week by popular demand we are learning the into I composed for the version of Flying Home I recorded with Herb Ellis. The first 8 bars are simple swing riffs all on the 1, then we play a diminished Arpeggio for 2 bars then resolve it with a two measure augmented arpeggio leading to the head.

Peter, Thats a good start. It sounds like you want to play it faster than your rhythm. You should try it a bit faster. Duke
Peter, Good question. In blues you can use it on the four chord. also in many progressions it works well on the one when going to a 2 minor 7 to 5. It would be 2 beats on 1 then 2 beats of a diminished scale going to the 2 chord. There ate many places a diminished can be used. Those a 2 examples. It makes a great passing chord in many places.
