Hey Sonic Junction!
Rick Estrin here, and I'm back this week with verse 8 of Bo Dee's Bounce. This verse is more or less, what I call a "riff" verse. I call it that because we basically work one riff, or lick (with some small adjustments) throughout practically the whole verse. There's a small tongue slap in the front of the lick, but otherwise this verse is mostly played clean - without distortion, slop, or different textures. The closest thing we've got to textural variety in this verse is a little vibrato in a few spots and one little growl in the last lick. This lesson's pretty simple on the surface, but if you really wanna own it and put it deep in the pocket, it'll probably take a little practice, but it'll be worth it. Have fun and I'll see you next week!
Rick
