Hi Everyone -
This week’s lesson in in my “Buffle Off To Shufallo” study song is a continuation of the harmonica rhythm part backing up the guitar solo. For this section, we play the actual backwards “Box” pattern as rhythm accompaniment for most of this chorus. Again, not only is it good to be working more on your rhythm chops (you may be thinking does it ever end??)…but this will also give you an essential rhythm pattern that you should know if you play a lot of blues. The Box (or backwards Box) pattern is used so much in blues and rock & roll, and surely you will recognize the note pattern used here.
So don’t forget to keep using your new best friend - the metronome - in your practice time and keep Buffling!!

This is really a fun workout love it. I'm still on the 3rd course, but loving it. thanks for agreat lesson
Thanks for working on this...glad you are digging it!
You say to count along with any music we listen to. I find that Corey Harris's page works really well for me. I don't do anything but count or play chord rhythm along with it........It's fun because I love his playing, but good practice too... Thanks for the tip!
Yes, this is great practice! Not only for the obvious reason (helps with getting a better grasp of rhythm and timing), but also when you do this with songs you study, it helps with getting a grasp of how the phrasing works within/around the beats. But for now, just focus on rhythm, rhythm , rhythm!! Thanks
