Hey Good Lookin' - Uke > Chords and Rhythm

Hello to my Fun Loving Ukulele Friends! I can’t believe it’s lesson 11 already. Where did the winter go? I don’t miss it although it was pretty good to gather with friends and have some snow day sing alongs. That’s social music. Now we’re going deep. Hey Good Lookin’ was recorded by Hank Williams, Sr. in 1951. As the story goes he wrote it in 20 minutes while flying in an airplane. He didn’t need to overthink things to create a masterpiece! We’re in the key of G on this one with the A, C, and D chords. In this lesson we’ll talk about finding our true singing voice, one of my favorite subjects as you know. The song bag is filling up and we’re learning a number of different types of songs so it’s important that as we learn them we begin to make them our own. That calls for both a playing style and a singing style. It’s in this process of developing a style that the music comes alive and the people around us start calling out for more. I’m honored to be on this journey with you.

Dan
