Hey Everybody -
This week we look into the third chorus of my “Horton Shuffle", which is a tribute to the great Big Walter Horton. I will introduce the concept and technique of tongue vamping while playing tongue-blocked, and how to utilize this in rapid fashion very much like Big Walter would use himself. I will also go over some licks and patterns often used by Big Walter.
For working on these new techniques, be sure to allow yourself plenty of short, focused practice sessions to nail the technique down and then you’ll be good to go.
Hope you dig it!
- Dennis
