Hello All!
We’ve got a new song this week: The Last Thing on My Mind by Tom Paxton. This song is a bit of a folk standard. It was written in the 1960s and has been recorded dozens of times by many legendary artists. It’s just one of those undeniably great songs. Over the course of the series we’ll use it as a template to look at some accompanimental techniques that you could use on any song with a similar feel. We’ll also look at Tony Rice’s beautiful arrangement from Church Street Blues.
Enjoy!
Chris

Hi Chris,
You mentioned that the right hand rolling style is something that you've spoken about in other lessons; could you direct me to this?
All the best,
James
The mother of all quotes !
Great quote !
are you going away with no word of farewell ....
Perfect timing, phrasing, and execution; Chris has taught you well :-) Seriously, we all miss the lessons, but that was the funniest internet comment I read all year!
LOL! Well played, well played. But the answer is NO! Not going away, and certainly not without a word of farewell.
I've been completely underwater with various things over the last couple of months but I think I'm now caught up on all questions here and we'll be getting a new lesson up by the end of this month. 😎
The tab dosen't match the lesson.
Hi Dave - jus saw your comment. Can you let us know where you see the difference -- and we will take a look. Thank you.
One of my favorites. Can't wait to dive in to more depth. And CONGRATULATIONS ON THE AMERICANA INSTRUMENTALIST OF THE YEAR AWARD!! Well deserved good sir!!
Thanks so much James! A true honor to be sure! I am most grateful for it!
Very sweet ... that would be a great one for the new record with Jules ... there is gonna be a new record right? Me and a whole bunch of people really hope so.
Agreed!
Hey Kip, Julian and I have plans to "get the band back together" a bit next year. Really looking forward to that!
