Hello Folks!

In this week's lesson we work on the bridge and last A section of the melody. My advice on this is to keep close to the vocal melody for this. Percy Mayfield's melody and inflection are perfection and if you can transmit that vibe in your version of it you are doing well! Next week we will work on how to play a solo on this tune. It can be interpreted a few different ways, but my choice is to not to stray too far away from the concept of the melody. But that's for next week. So for now see if you can play a convincing version of the melody that has the feeling of Percy's vocal.
