This week I'm going to show you a new position for a pentatonic scale. The melody of Old Grimes is very much based in the pentatonic scale (with an extra note added occasionally to highlight a chord change). But because the melody is so rooted in the pentatonic scale, it's pretty easy to learn this new position if you already know and can sing the melody. Also, as I explain in the video, the shape of this position is very symmetrical so it is easier to visualize than most.

You'll see how we were already using this position to play the high notes in the B-part. We'll use the knowledge of this shape in future lessons.
