Hi Boyd,
Your progress may be slower than you'd like but you are making some progress and as long as you're enjoying the process don't give up. Persistence often trumps talent.
Hi Boyd,
Timing and precision of your bends remain your biggest obstacles though there are places where you're very close. Here's an idea that might help. This is a link to the lyrics of the song as done by Doris Day with the Les Brown Orchestra: http://www.lyricsfreak.com/d/doris+day/sentimental+journey_20279019.html. The recording begins with an instrumental section in one key before it shifts to the key of "A" as Doris begins her vocal at 1:24 of the time code. Here's a link to the recording: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O7umIJj8UBo. Try singing along with her and you can try playing along too with a "D" harp that will put you in the key of "A". Sining along will help you get a feel for the timing. then, you can return to Rick's backing track and try playing along. This might help you lock in better on the timing. Of course, you'll have to switch back to an "A" harp since he plays the song in "E". Good luck and have fun!
Beautiful job!! Every note is spot on, it's got a nice relaxed feel to it, and your lovely vibrato is perfect. Real music. Congratulations!
