I’m serving up something very tasty today, three little chords and Three Little Birds. Coincidence? I think not! If you’ve been with me so far you’ve made some serious progress and learned some crucial chords. Let’s take a social music classic from Bob Marley’s Exodus record and play it with a few new chords. If you approach learning in this way, song by song, you’ll never have to practice. You’ll just be playing…all the time! We’re going to learn this song in the key of A which means we’ll be digging in to the A chord, the D chord, and the E chord. If you recall our earlier sidebar about using numbers instead letters that would be the I chord, the IV chord, and the V chord. I’ve never been at a party where this song, no matter who was leading it, didn’t get every one singing along. Take it as slow as you need to here to get in the groove but I can assure you these chords are not going to give you a hard time. It won’t feel as challenging as what you’ve already been through with the C chord and the F chord!
