In this lesson we will learn the basics of this classic spiritual. We focus on the alternating bass and the melody line, which you will put together as you become more confident. Pay special attention to the position of your picking hand (to mute or dampen strings) and also to your slide hand (make sure that you are not digging in too much -- use a light touch -- and that your fingers are close together.
