Hey Sonic Students!
For this last breakdown and chorus of "Windy City Shuffle” we utilize some long wailing notes, tremolo, trills, and glissandos, as well as some tongue-blocked rhythm as we bring this piece to a close. Just a reminder to really pay attention to the phrasing of many of these patterns, as some of them are just slightly behind the beat as Little Walter would do so often. For any technique you find a little tricky, just break it down to practice by itself before using it in context at full speed. I hope you enjoyed this stylistic nod to Little Walter and his Chicago Blues harp style…see you next time!
