Hi - Dennis Gruenling here and this week we start breaking down how to play this Chicago-Style Shuffle in the key of E on an A harmonica in 2nd position. Pay particular attention to not just the notes that I am playing, but how I am putting the phrases together with the groove and using different techniques together for a particular sound. In this first chorus we’ll be using distorted notes, tremolo, tongue vamps, trills and more. Especially inspired by the styles of Little Walter (and a bit of Big Walter), this takes you through some typical patterns and phrases in the style of these Chicago greats….dig in and enjoy as we begin trip to Chicago!
