Hey Junctioneers!!
Dennis Gruenling here and I’m glad to see you all. This time on Sonic Junction I am taking it north to the Windy City for a mid tempo Shuffle inspired by the great Chicago Blues Harp players, especially Little Walter. Aside from the licks, phrases and Blues Scale notes we are utilizing here, pay particular attention what effects are used, how the notes and phrases are attacked, and HOW all of these factors come together to form a specific approach to blues harp playing. Definitely swinging, but also very solid and rhythmic! Listen a few times, then grab your A harp to play 2nd Position along with me…Enjoy this, and see you soon!

Hi Dennis Whats the best way to put this into my music playlist to listen to whilst driving Thanks Kiwi Dave
Hi - I am not sure about that actually. Let me see if someone at SJ knows more about it - thanks
Now amplified
Really nice!! Sorry for the delay in responding, but this sounds great. Only thing I can think of as far as specifics, is mainly relating to your execution of some of the tongue-blocked effects. You are doing them in the right places, just sometimes not as smooth as it can be. Much of that comes down to breath control and smooth tongue movement, and will come better with just practice, or shall I say consistent practice with doing that technique by itself on a daily basis. Small doses, but consistent. As usual, nice work!
Hola, first acoustic attempt, next week hopefully amplified..
