Hello Junctionites!
This week we dive in to the 2nd Chorus of my “Windy City Shuffle” in E. This chorus finds us going further into the Blues Scale, as well as using some glissandos, and some of the great tongue-blocked shuffle rhythm playing used so much by these great players. If you still want to work on developing your shuffle rhythm smoother before you can use it in this type of context, just be sure to practice it by itself with a metronome on a regular basis everyday (short, small doses is best actually) and you will have it steady in no time. Enjoy this section and I’ll see you next week for some more Chicago-style playing!
