Greeting guitar friends, this week we work on soloing on Chitlins Con Carne. My approach to this lesson is to show you many different techniques like double stops, double time funky lines and riffs that are indicative of the soul jazz guitar idiom. Being the tune is primarily based on the minor pentatonic scale, I prefer to teach different ways to make your playing on that scale to sound jazzy by technical ideas and timing. Awesome lesson. Adding some new colors to my blues. Love the combination of the root two string 1 5 chords plus the moving 6 9 chords.
I've always used a lot of bending in my solos, so this lesson has introduced my to a more jazzier, melodic approach if you will.
