We're re-issuing one of Corey's most popular lessons with new sheet music, re-mastered video and updated loop points. This lesson is from Corey's guest Artist, Blues Legend Guy Davis. From Guy:
In this lesson, I'll introduce to you the song Little Red Rooster. In a moment we are going to learn it in standard tuning, but first, I want to show it to you the way I do it which is in the key of A, but in drop D tuning. So it is a little more advanced, but it helps to show you the cadence, the groove of this acoustic version of the tune. It shows how effectively single notes can be used to produce a groove that is simple and complex at the same time.
When I teach it in standard tuning, still in the key of A, some things change, such as the D9 chord. One thing that does not change is the use of the left pinky on the A chord and the use of the right thumb on the open A string.
Just give it a listen.
