Hey now! Rick Estrin here - I’m back this week with verse six of Sloppin’ and Slidin’! In this verse, we break it up with a couple of useful contrast devices. First, we start out by “shifting gears” by using my old standby of beginning on the second beat. We also take a short break from the intensity of the previous verse by switching to some more intimate sounding, little cute-type, licks. Then, watch out, ‘cause after we’ve drawn the listener in with the cute stuff, and we get to the part of the verse where we’re leading into the V, we kick up the intensity again with some fierce Sloppin’ and Slidin’!
