Hello Friends,
This week we are working on the guitar for the first two vocal choruses. It's the basic blues Jimmy Reed style but a little different with an interesting turn around and a few variable chords, rakes and turn around riffs. Plus we learn the great Robert Junior riff he does on the 1 chord that everybody loves and uses. It's become a staple riff for most Chicago blues guitarists by now. Next week we learn the great harmonized walking pattern Robert does on the solo section and I will also show some ideas for soloing on it after that part. Send some videos and keep on practicing!

even though it's pretty straighforward, this song seems open to many interprestations - your light touch is so appealing, but I chose to lay it down kinda heavy, & tried a stab at singing - sometimes I really like the fat sound of open ringing strings a la early T-Birds - Stevie played that way too - more of a Texas-style bottom end

Making these videos just keep putting more tools in the toolbox. I used the V walkup, the IV bent chord, and the country Jimmy Reed style riff during my gig last night. A guest vocalist got up and we did a slow-medium shuffle so I decided to use these licks. My bass player heard the bouncing rhythym lines and jumped all over it.
Still got to some work on the Lockwood lick. Its not quite natural yet.

Hi Steve, very good start on it. The lick you're refering to will come a lot easier if you keep doing it. It's a very useful lick in blues in E once you get used to it it will become second nature. good work! Duke
