Hi Dennis !! I understand but to me , you are "taking off" on the third verse for a "wild ride" !! I d have like to see what you d have done on the others verse ?? and what do you mean by "jams online" ??
I won t make friends but I have to say it ... 3 times Best Modern Blues Harp Player and only 3 Chorus ... come on ... let Dennis play !! to me it s a shame !!
The point of these study songs is to provide a particular focal point for learning and practice...sometimes the new shorter songs which we are experimenting with here are more approachable and attainable, while still learning, developing, and fine-tuning new techniques and approaches. But thank you, I do like to cut loose, which I do on some of these, as well as on all of my live performances and some of my jams online.
Hi Rene !! I m not sure to understand ?? but the backing track (only guitar) it s at your up right of the screen there 3 symbols ; play , plus, and a printer ... so the first one " play" it s the backing track !! hope it s answering the question ??
Now .... I begin to know what it means to be "locked in Rhythm " ... people used to tell that and I didn t know what it meant !! a lot of practice to do !! Thank s a lot Dennis !!
Hi Larry !! I really appreciated your comments like usual and thank you !! for the moments only counting the beats while i m playing and trying to not miss a beat and know where I am in the 12 Bars ... my "plate" is full !! but I want to thank you because I don t know when you gave me that advice to walk at a pace that I needed to keep a beat while I m playing ... I started to do it yesterday and guess what ?!! It worked Man !! thanks
HI Rick , Larry and others !! Am I wrong ?!! I don t think so . Right now , I m trying to sing the song that I learned by heart and count the beat with my feet with the Backing track ... man , What an exercise , I miss alot of beat and sometime start in the wrong place ... and loose myself !! Rick you kind of always start at the last beat of each chorus for the next 4 bars and not always on the first beat ,
I think I will improve my Groove with that ?!! because I was always trying to play "licks" on kind of "nothing" ... I remember once Rick you said in I don t remember the lesson ; that playing "licks" after a period of time gets boring , and I think that you said to add chords and ghost notes gonna make the bed of Groove ... i m not sure if my explaination is right ?!! but ... In the end I m sure it will help !!
Hi Rick !! thank you for the advice , right now on the bends , i think is the best that I can do, I will continue to focus to be more precise on them , I ll get there maybe soon ?!! thank you for James Cotton, Big Jay McNeelay and Joe Houston CDs , I received them a week ago and really I have a "ball" listening to them , I did t know that Cotton was "that" Good !! intentional Slops ; that s my next Goal !! these Sax players are so Good !! Right now I m "working" on Mr Lee s Manbo and to be honest I m sure that I do a better job than 2 years ago because Half Stepping song already made a big difference in my playing !! I will put it on the site soon ... and Yeah I will see you soon !!
Hi Rick !! I did another attempt , on the first Chorus on the V , I missed the bend , and on the 3 rd Chorus on the I , I m not in the pocket like it would ... overall , to me it s Ok ... what do you think ??
Hey Andre! Sorry I took so long to get back to you on this. Overall, you're doing a great job! There're just a couple spots where the bends could be more precise, but you're making good progress on your groove - You've really got the 2 draw/3 blow working for you - You're attacking the chords with a little less volume, which is good - Overall, real good job! Great seeing you in Shirley, and I hope to see you again soon.
wow. You really are improving....you still KILL me with that tongue switch at the end! Something I can't do!
Once again, the "chording" behind the groove could be a little less volume making the lead lines stand out more, but it is better than that last video. When your lead line goes down to those lowest holes, the chording sounds a little blurred.
Your control on that 3 hole inhale is very very good - you are hitting the correct pitches dead on most of the time. The 2 hole inhale full bend still needs a bit of work - sometimes you come up just a little to sharp in pitch, but other times it is deep enough. Try to work on the consistency. If you spend 5 minutes/day for 2 weeks on nothing but the 2 hole inhale bend - down to the floor and back up slowly - it should solve this issue.
Overall, you are doing great! keep it up. tres bien!
Very Good Kosta !! it s really fun to see and ear your Russian version of "9 below zero" ... Happy New Year and hope to see you again !! André
Thank you Mike .... very much !!
Hi Mike !! I d like to know if there a backing track for that song ??
