Hi Bruce D. Cool name! ;-) [ In case anyone is wondering, we aren't the same person! ;-) ]

I use an app called Audio Hijack to record the sound from any app. Works for me!

Regards,

Bruce Dumes

Hi Mike,

is it possible to download backing tracks to my machine as mp3’s?  Would really like to use Duke’s latest T-Bone track without having to be online.

thanks

What is the Remember Me Option on the Login page supposed to do?  Even though I select this option, I always have to type in my email and password.

I am using Google Chrome Version 73.0.3683.103 and macOS Mojave version 10.14.4

Thanks

Hi again,

Apologies if asked this question in the wrong forum on the 26th. Is there a backing track for Rick's "Lightnin" lesson.

I see your point.

If you can afford it and bluegrass is what you want, you could test artistworks.com

Bryan Sutton has Basic guitar lessons, intermediate and advanced.

Or maybe banjobenclark.com

Paul Davids on youtube has really good videoes on music theory and lots of other stuff. Explained in a very understandable way.

I can also recommend guitar books by Barrett Tagliarino.

Hello!

I am returning to guitar after a long time off. I was mediocre at best, I could play some songs, knew chords and could use TAB, but I have no idea what I was actually doing. I had zero working knowledge of the fretboard and couldn't tell you what key I was playing in.

I want to give this another go, this time with Bluegrass instead of rock and blues. It seems the lessons on here are rather advanced and not geared for my limited ability. Is there some beginnerish content here?

Hey Chris,

Thanks for these Under the Double Eagle lessons - having a blast. I've been taking a closer listen to the rest of the Whiskey Before Breakfast album and really enjoy the medley Sleepy Eyed Joe / Indian Creek, in particular the latter half, but I can't seem to find any information about these songs. Do you have any insight into who wrote them or where they came from, or if there's any sheet music out there, or videos of it being played?

Best,
John

Yeah, the Mills mics are hard to find. Other than the Mills, I’ve actually only ever used an Audio Technical ATM-350. It’s a lavelier microphone that Punch Brothers’ sound engineer, Dave Sinko, helped me out with. To be honest though, that setup was pretty complicated and I wouldn’t recommend it. As James mentioned, K&K makes an integrated system with a proprietary mic, the pure mini and a blender. I’ve never used it, but based on my experience with K&K I bet it’s good. There are a handful of other pickup manufacturers with good reputations who offer similar integrated products.

Hi Chris, You probably already have an idea what you are doing this year based on the number of great recommendations mentioned in previous posts but any chance you would consider teaching the group any of the following songs:  “For Critter,” “Black Mountain Rag,” “Arkansas Traveler” or  “John Henry.” Really appreciate the instruction!

I  would also LOVE if you could teach us "Streets of London".  Manzanita and Church Street Blues are such GREAT albums!

Sorry for resurrecting a dead thread... I'm new to live acoustic sound.  I'm looking to get start with blending two sound sources, what's a good alternative to the Mills mic?  Looks like they're unavailable on his site.  I have the K&K mini pre and it feels like something is missing.

Hi there. El Canario from your Nueva York album is such a beautiful and vibrant song. I would love to learn how to play it on acoustic guitar. I see it on your song list here but can't find a lesson for it. Is a video forthcoming? Many thanks --Ross

Hi John, thank you for the suggestion! I do improvise quite a lot when playing rhythm and I think that it would be a great topic for discussion.
