Hi Preston .. good suggestion.  We will probably not do this in the short term ... but will in the longer term 3-12 months from now.

Eventually, our goal is to have a reference of all blues songs and their chord charts.

Hi Thomas,

To slow down the video, you need to be using either

- Google Chrome

- Apple Safari

- Internet Explorer 9

As you web browser.  When you use these browsers you will see a "Video Speed" menu on the top portion of the video to change between Normal, 75% and 50% speed.

Hope that helps and please let me know if you have any questions.

Mike

There's a killer live version of this tune available on Spotify - Duke played it at the Notodden Blues Festival.

By the way, Duke, I'm thrilled to be here. I've been a huge fan for probably 25 years or so.

Best,

Matt

Hi Duke,

I'm fairly new to Sonic Junction and I'm really enjoying the great lessons from both you and Corey. Although many of them are a little beyond my current playing ability, I'm working hard and I feel like I am slowly improving. I was wondering if there is any chance of a lessons in the style of one of my favorite players, the late great John Lee Hooker?

Hi Jerry...Love the lessons.. Now you said in the 44 Blues song that there was the ability to slow down somw portions of the audio if I wasnt catching exactly what you were playing, well, how exactly do you do that?

On the My babe tune...if you wanted to sing the vocals and play harp do you just adjust the timing on the fills? I noticed that you sometimes come in early while Rick is singing and, of course, you couldn't do that if you were comping your own vocals... So, just adjust the timing of the fill?

Thanks, Tommy Hutch

This is Hutch....I am trying to figure out how to slow some of the licks down as Jerry sais was possible, but, I can not find where to utilize this function.

Another question that I have is there any possible way that the backing track can be made with and without vocals? I would like to sing some of the songhs that are not filled with harp all the way through.  That brings me to the question of "My Babe", Little Walter sings the vocals and plays harp and when Rick and Jerry does there version, Jerry willcome in early on the fills between the choruses and my question is, if you want to sing and play harp do you just adjust the timing of the fill etc.??

My favorite way of practicing is with the loop feature...Adjusting the segment to loop by clicl..hold on the end/start time arrow and drop it where y

I am able to listen to one lick, get that down and then move the arrow to the end of the next lick and on and on until I have the whole 12 bars and so on accomplished. Now, if I can figure oput to slow portions down because Jerry does not always tell you exactly note for note at what he is playing, but, that is an assett for it helps to train my ear and I am totally on board with Jerry's teaching phlosophy.....

  Thank    Tommy Hutch

Hello Jerry/Rick,

I wonder if its possible for you to post the chord Changes you used to play Kidney Stew Blues...this is because I was trying to improvise along and could not get any notes that sounded good they somehow seemed off....If we have the chords used maybe it would be easier to find something that matches!!

Thanks & Regards,

Preston

Wow! You really brought a smile to my face listening to this one. Technique is excellent. You have really good tone with accuracy in execution and excellent tongue blocking and octaves. The bends are spot on in pitch. Just a couple of tips: the warbles start a bit slowly. Try to come into them at full speed which you do a second or two into them. Also at about 48-49 of the time code you drop one beat. Check it out. This is the best student video I've seen so far. Great job!!

Hi Preston,

It's absolutely ok to request certain songs. That's not to say that I can fulfill all requests but I will when I can. I'll put "Just Your Fool" on my short list.

Hello Jerry,

When playing the two hole chords for the SBW-I Lessons is it ok to use the Tongue Blocking method or should we use  the Lip Pursing method...

Thanks & Regards,

Would love to see a lesson on Blues in D Natural. Not Wes Montgomery's  jazz piece but the blues instrumental like the one Sue Foley plays in her YouTube video...
