@ Alex...your version of candy man is very nice.  It is also a little different from other versions and that is refreshing.  Thanks.

@John Bunyan...your guitar tone is real nice here and you got the main riff down good.  Keep working at it sounds good.

Hi Mike,

Yes, that is the right one.  I have it on a different album, but it is the same version.  However, I've figured it out since I asked.  It's not that difficult but requires good bending control.  I just love the way Butterfield does this song and "Walkin' Blues," and "Born In Chicago."  I make sure to play at least a portion of each song every day. Also, I play "Juke," on Sonny Boy I song and one Paul deLay song each day.  Only takes fifteen or so minutes but doing this has made a world of difference for me.

Thanks for asking.

Rich

Hi Rich ... thanks for the post.  I think it would help Jerry if we could post the tune for him.  Is this the one?

Hi Doug,

Good question.  We currently don't support recording videos on the iPad.  We have it on our list for a future release (this coming winter).  Until that time, you can record videos on your iPad and then upload it via you MacBook / PC.

Hi Duke!

Big Fan here, I started 2 years ago trying to play real blues

and not with a whole lotta distortion.

I like players like you, jimmie vaughan, Zach Zunis, Kid Ramos, well to many to mention :)

How do I setup my amps for those T-Birds early strat tones

Jimmie Vaughan, You and Kid Bangham had?

This is drivin me crazy, the tone always sound clean but dirty and I just can't to seem to dial in

that tone. the song cookin you recorded together is a good stamp on what I am talking about.. :)

I only play strats so thats a good start :)  and my amps are a Fender Blues Junior III

and I also have a Tweed Vibrolux Replica 1x10 with bigger Iron in it for cleaner breakup

I have had Tweed Bassman/Bandmaster and Super Reverbs but to me they always was to loud

for the venues I play.. 15-20w seems more appropriate to get the amp to work harder at a decent level

I am tired of this quest but I do like the tone so much I want to be able to get it :)

I really enjoy your lessons, great stuff, I will try to upload a video of me playin soon

Best Regards

Pierre Sjöholm

@Tom yes it's sad hope your situation get's better ! It's not a long time i could afford good guitar i' played cheap guitar for a long time, now it's going better for me since 2years... Hope the wheels turn for you too :) !

@Alex your last song are beautiful too what a tragedy what hapenned ! But in French media we don't talk a lot about it :( By the way i'm singing POlice Dog Better cause it's in my confort zone, singing Kind Hearted is really Higher. At that time it's still a sportive challenge for me ;)

@Duke and Corey, hope you could see and comment all the video, i'm waiting for your comment like a kid ;)

Thanks for all

JD

Thanx...! Mr. Duke...!!!

Your comments have me and my blues buddie, Matt "Over The Moon"...! I told Matt to just perform his songs in his own way and not follow me. I wanted him in the "driver's seat", because as I told him, a blues guitarist's role is to "respond", not to lead and he understood me. I think that's why the videos came out well.

I have another good friend who played harp with SRV long before John Hammond's influance.
