Hi Dan --- great tune. I love your thoughts about singing and making the tune your own. Ben E King's version is amazing and a little intimidating at the same time. I'm looking forward to learning to sing with you --- and I'm definitely just starting the journey of finding my voice --- so I appreciate your words of encouragement.
thank you for your good words mike! i'm going to try and break things down to their basic elemants so we can all find our way inside the songs. and i'll be sure to maintain a steady focus on singing as well as playing....keep me filled in on your progress!
Hi Raleigh --- thanks for the reminder. You can find the backing track "play button" on the right side of the screen just under the webcam recorder. Enjoy.
Hi Boyd --- thanks for the question. I've updated the links so you can now get to Silent Nigh, Deck the Halls and Auld Lang Syne. You can also find them on Jerry's Artist Hub page.
Hi Joe --- thanks for the feedback. If you watch the video from 0:20 to 0:40 you will see that Corey is bending the 3rd string for the main lick. He likely also plays the lick like you suggest with a slide. It's very common for roots Artists to do this as they are typically "speaking" through their instrument --- and the exact phrasing varies. The variations also tends to make the music more interesting.
Corey often utilizes "brushes" of varying intensity to give the song breath --- i.e. make it alive. The 6th string being played is a "brush" and it's best to loop it to get the sonic feel of it --- and then work on it via your ear. To say it another way --- the brush is more about the touch and feel than the notes.
Hi Mike --- it's in Open D tuning. If you look at the sheet music --- you can see the tuning at the beginning of the tab staff. I've also added a note just before the loop points. Thanks for asking so we can make it more clear.
Hi Lewis --- thanks for the feedback on this. We were actually debating whether to show this as 2 bars / line as opposed to 4 bars / line. I've updated the sheet music to show 2 bars / line. Please let me know what you think.
As an FYI --- we show it as 16th notes because that is how Chris tends to think of these tunes musically (Chris --- please correct me if I'm wrong).
Lastly --- thanks for letting us know (even when you're frustrated) --- it's how we make a better service.
Hi Boyd -- what type of computer / browser are you using ?
Hi Doc --- we're working on re-releasing the first lesson with new sheet music and loop points. It should be back up by the end of the week.
Wow. Absolutely beautiful Chris.

The track is located on the floating tab --- upper right part of your screen --- just under the webcam recorder.
Hi Jeff --- yes, our mistake --- thanks for letting us know. All fixed.
Beautiful Chris --- I'm looking forward to learning this one.
Hi Bill --- glad it's working for you. As you keep using the new design--- would be great to know what's working and what can be better.

Hi Kip --- I think your singing is great. Nice tone and phrasing. You really shape it which is cool.
Great playing --- and absolutely love your singing !!
Hi Jay --- if you go to Corey's Artist Hub page, you will see a list of all of Corey's lessons.
We will be breaking them out by tuning over the next couple days.
Hi Raleigh --- yes, we will be releasing a backing track with the first chorus breakdown (next lesson coming out on Friday).
Hi All --- we posted the wrong sheet music for this lesson on Friday. The sheet music is now correct and up to date. Please accept our apologies.
That's some mighty fine picking. Made my day.
Hi Joe --- thanks for the reminder. Backing track is now up. Enjoy.
