Hi Charlie --- sounds really good. FYI that the cutting in / out is usually the "noise reduction" on your computer microphone. You can turn it off via the settings menu.
give thanks Mike...yes this is one of my favorite from one of the all time greats. I like open A better for my voice and I feel that the guitar cuts through better. When I first started playing, it was always open G, but after playing on the street I needed to cut through the noise a bit more and open A did it for me. I also like the tension of the strings better in open A because it feels easier to pick with fingerpicks.
Hi Corey --- I'm really enjoying this tune, thank you. Here's where I am with my singing. Right now I'm trying to work on singing from my diaphram and finding my natural voice. It would be great to get your feedback and any thoughts on what I should concentrate on / practice. Thanks.
Mike thanks for posting the video. I like that you are taking your time with the notes. Which version are you following when u sing? Some of the vocal lines sound like a popular version but I cant tell who. I would suggest that you keep at it and stay away from any embellishments for now. Just sing it straight in the way that you feel the notes. There is honesty in your singing and you are brave to step out there...as you know many find singing challenging but the only way is to get out in the deep end and swim. Also try singing the song every moment you get throughout the day and in different sonic environments: the shower, in the car, outside, in a quiet corner of a room, etc. Hearing how your voice sounds in different spaces will give you an idea of how it should sound to you. It will also let you place your singing under a microscope and analyze the places that need improvemnt.
Hi Guy --- I love the way you voice the G7 and D9 chords. It's cool that if you just move one or two notes around how much it changes the feel of the chord and makes the song flow. Thanks for teaching us.
Mike, there is nothing new in guitar playing. Revoicing standard chords is a way of saying the same old thing in a different way. To make a song flow, keep practicing it until you can play and sing it with authority. Guy Davis
Hi Taylor --- this issue was likely your "noise reduction" on the microphone input. The first seconds of your original video were silent --- which triggered our "transcoding system" to think the whole video was silent. We will look to fix it in the next week or two.
Nice playing by the way. You got the groove! I'm sure Dennis will enjoy seeing it.

Love that progression and the chord voicings --- it's a keeper. I may try and write a song or two around it.
Thanks Bruce! Fixed.
Thanks Bruce! Fixed.
Hi Harry --- you sound great! I love the foot-tapping too --- really makes the groove.
Nice playing Steve! --- great tone too.
Hi Lazarlem --- sure, we can diagram the chords.
Can you please let us know the timecodes Corey plays them?
Thanks.
Great song and love that second riff. Open A tuning just sounds beautiful / soulful to me.

Sweet!! You sound great Bruce. Inspiring. Nice tone too.
What are you using for your amp? You're getting a nice tone at a decent volume.
