Hi Bob --- yes --- there's a play button in the upper right corner of the page just under the webcam recorder. If you click it --- the backing track will start.
We put it here so you can control the track while looking at any part of the page.
Hi Daniel --- Jerry doesn't have tab for his lessons by design. He wants you to learn it by ear using his breakdown lessons and the slow downer / looper. You can find the breakdown lessons by clicking on Other Lessons in This Series (just under the right hand side of the video).
Jerry's method is very similar to how we all learned to speak and the Suzuki method for violin.
Hi Chris --- I second Bruce's comment --- great lesson.
For me, rotating the pick around the long axis and picking a bit into the guitar (so the string vibrates in and out) was key for me to get rest strokes to work --- and a lighter touch on my brushes. I was having trouble getting the right sound and flow for the basic bluegrass rhythm until this lesson --- and now things are coming together.
That said --- it is taking time because I have to change how I pick (and build the muscle memory) --- but I now feel I'm on the right road which is VERY cool. Thank you!
Hi Ian --- nice work and thanks for posting. For the boogie woogie --- I think Paul goes from the V right back to the I --- it's a slightly different form from most 12 bar blues.
Hi Chris --- great lesson, thank you. One thing I need to work on is getting the alternating bass louder and more defined.
I have a semi-related question --- do you use a thick pick? If so --- I'm curious how thick. You get a really nice defined sound from the bass that I want to try to get.
Beautiful Mike!! I love the way you hit that two notw chord fragment --- the tone is beautiful. I second Charlie's request --- any advice on setup and getting the tone would be great.
Funny story with respect to BB's vocal approach to playing guitar --- I was watching a video of Alan Pasqua (Jazz Piano) and he was relating a story about a lesson he took from a master --- and all she had him do was sit at the piano for an hour and say "the piano is a wind instrument." He thought she was totally nuts, until a couple weeks later when he tried to play the piano like a wind instrument, taking breaths, flowing lines etc --- then he realized it was one of the most insightful lessons he ever had.
Love the song Duke! --- and the Peggy Lee version is great --- vocals, guitar, piano are all fantastic.

This is a great lesson Guy. Just love the feel / groove --- it whirls around me and takes me to a different place.
Mike,I'm glad that it takes you someplace special. Make sure that you bring your wallet with you, in case you need to get a cab back home.
Hi Bob --- you may want to try Corey's lesson on Running and Hiding. Great simple groove and catchy vocals.
Hi Daniel --- thanks for the message --- if you let me know the details via our Contact Us page

Beautiful Corey. Absolutely beautiful. I look forward to learning this one.
Nice Bruce. I especially enjoyed your singing. Made my day.
Hi Mark --- thanks for the message. The lessons load fine for us --- it's most likely you internet connect (not your laptop)
--- what type of internet connection do you have?
--- was anyone else online / using your connection while you were trying to watch the lesson?
Please let me know via the Contact Us page and we will get it solved for you.
