Hi Corey,

A friend of mine is a real fan of R.L Burnside and after listening to him I realize I have been missing out! I listened to Poor Black Mattie. Wow!

Just putting in my request for this song and other R.L Burnside material.

Thanks again Corey!

I'm playing through an old VYPR, because I got it for free.  Now that I'm actually playing with people I need to think about getting an amp, but I don't really know what I'm looking for.  Would anyone share recommendations?  In addtion to models, it would be really helpful to understand what makes a particular amp good in your opinion.  What gives it it's unique sound?  Also, I'm not sitting on a $500 bill just waiting to be spent on an amp.  So it would be good to know both what is a good enough set up to get started playing out as well what to think about for the future.

Many thanks,

Bill

Hi Mike,

I want to change the email associated with my sonic junction account.  Is there like a "profile" thing I go to do that?

Thanks,

Bill

Hey Chris, do you have any plans to teach any of Tony's more jazz influenced stuff? The Acoustics album, Mar West, Backwaters, etc. I find I have a very difficult time with the chords in those tunes. It's very difficult for me to hear what is being played. Do you have any tips for that?

Thanks for the great lessons,

Caleb

BK, Saw that you are enjoying the Blues Driver. I use a Bad Monkey tube distortion pedal and swear by it. It's only about $40 but I think it sounds like real small amp overdrive. Duke

Hi Patrick, Welcome to Sonic Junction! Both great tunes and I will consider both of them. I've played Misty a bit but never played Autum Leaves because it's been done so much but I agree these would both be good to add. Let me see what I can do...... Duke

hey there mike!

i'm glad you asked....

i recently bought a Java by Tanglewood. at just under 200 bucks it's not quite an entry level uke but i've been happy that i spent a little more dough. this is the one i play in most of the videos. http://www.tanglewoodguitars.co.uk/product-category/ukulele-java/

i've been hearing a lot of great reports about kala ukes and their prices really run the range from low to high. https://kalabrand.com/pages/ukulele

i have several friends who love their luna ukes but you have to be willing to sport a fairly prominent design! http://www.lunaguitars.com/ukuleles

and as anyone who's seen me play live in the past 15 years i have a place in my heart for the flea ukuleles. they're made out of a combination of wood and plastic (hard to break!) and sounds great. http://www.magicfluke.com/default.asp

those are my starting points. luna and kala have the most inexpensive options.....

let me know what you end up getting!

Hi Dan --- I'm looking forward to learning the Uke and was wondering if you had any advice on what to look for when purchasing one.   I'm probably looking for an entry level instrument.

Thanks for the help.

Hi

,The list of some artist's lessons seems to have dissappeared when checking in to their sections of the site, Specifically Dennis and Rick.

Hi Chris,

I'm sure you already have a curriculum in mind, but if you could squeeze in the Tennessee Waltz, I'd greatly appreciate it.  Also, if you already have a lesson in which you discussed how you developed your finger independence and speed, will you point me to it?  Thanks,

David

Thanks!, It does work. Lucky me, I was looking for that on Half steppin', the new lesson. it's probably not posted yet cause the backing track icon does not appear there.

Hi Duke,

As a new member, I'm really enjoying your lessons.  Is there any chance you could do arrangements for Misty and Autumn Leaves?  Two of my favorites.  Thanks

Patrick

Totally missed this. Never got an email notification.  It's usually later in the year.
