@Mike...thanks!! I don't really like the way I sing...I think my problem isn't to be in pitch or not...it's really how the sound is goin out from the mouth...It's a matter of vocal tecnique..A friend told me some time ago for eample that I sing with the mouth really close....I should take lesson..

@Corey....thanks!!! Yes..I like that brushes a lot...I'm workin on them too!!! When I do the main riff sometime I've got the feelin I'm doin it a little bit "staccato"...it's not always that kind of wavy sound...and put more brushes do add some color! For the next lesson I'd like to know more about that chokes, if possible!!...even some kind of exercises to improve this kind of tecnique...but in general I'd really love to study some typicall tune of Ali Farka Toure...Maybe even one he directly taught you when you met each toher in Niafunkè! :) would be nice to keep the tradition....I look forward to receive your newsletter about the book...:))

after "love and feel my care" you do that conclusive part that corey does sometimes in the I and II string or one octave lower on the 5 and 6th string...
As far as I understood in this tune the voice really is connected note by note with the guitar..It's like the guitar is speaking...So if you try to do it real slow matching every single word note by note with the guitar you realize that if you're doing wrong it shouldn't sound properly. As Corey was sayin dissect each part in even small pieces and try to match them. This is the way I do...
Said that I'm writing you this things just like a student talkin with his class mate...but the teacher, maestro here is Corey..I think it works like this but take my words with the benefit of the doubt..:)
@Duke...."There is time to be smooth, there is time to be crude"....I love it!!! :DD.....this is what my uncle used to say me when we talked about women...and you know he was the uncle with the guitar that there's almost in every family (and for my generation...well actually I'm the uncle who plays the guitar") the cool uncle who always give you advices and you accept them because he's doin like a friend instead of takin that kind of position..I'm older so I know more than you....anyway I still remember when I was young and feel insecure about women my uncle sayin me about how to make love with a woman...sex and all that kind of things....Alessandro, when you are on a bed with a woman...there's time to be smooth, and time to be crude!! :DDD....This is the secret to be a perfect lover!! :DD And actually I think he was right!!:DDD...Nice that it works the same with the blues! :DD
@Peter..I'd really like to be helpfull but I'm totally ignorant in musical theory and related lessic...I just rely on my ear..I should study more of this stuff :))
@Corey...I slowed it down I think..that variations are still difficoult for me...The matter is not only how to do them, but I think make them not too much repetitive...I'm tryin to find a kind of main variations pattern :D
.I've got a request if possible...would you show us how to do properly that chokes? They're crucial in gettin the sound of this tune...I don't know..maybe even some kind of exercise...I remember Gordon about these chockes, advisin me not to move the fingers too far from the neck as the consequence should be loose precious time...that was really usefull..

@Duke....this is just a general attempt tryin to pay respect to the main theme and throwing in some licks that I learned by Corey...I don't know if it's sound good plus I'm not very good in soloing. If you have any suggestion for me It would be really appreciated as I'm not very into about the way to pick the strings, timing in soloing etc!!! thanks for the lesson!! :)
@Jd...I have the same opinion of Skip James....his style was so unique and sublime...many others musician from Bentonia do play this music really well but the way he interpreted the whole thing is really something that leave me without sense of position...there's a nice video where Skip James is playin Devil got my woman with all the greatest bluesman in a room...all of them in absolute and religious silence...
i think that in this tune Corey is really at his best...there is this version on youtube which is really fantastic...It's really hard with Skip James to do your own version and at the same time pay respect to the original...Corey for sure really suceeds in this....there's a lot Mali and Africa in his guitar style...my girlfriend says, watching the lessons of Corey and the way he speaks, that he doesn't look like an american...he really looks like an African...I think it's a compliment! :D
@Corey...here's my feedback...I've been workin on this tune since the last 2 months..When I saw that the new lesson was on special rider I really remained without words...thanks A LOT!
p.s. just seen the answers on the others lessons...no worries Corey! Nice idea to play the guitar imagining to have a piano..I often imagine to play guitar as I have in my hands a djembe!About Bob Dylan I would add that he if we plays the harmonica than we all can....:D
