@Corey...I'm tryin it slower...I still have problem with alternate picking mostly when I go to G, I think..I'm separating the tune and at the end I put all the pieces together...It works well with me. I am also used to pick with the beginning part of the thum...There is where I have my callus :D..I'll try the other way step by step :)
@Corey just one more question if you don't mind..it's always about musicians that influenced each other..In these days I'm studyin "woke up with the blues in my fingers"...a part from the fact that it's so beautifull that's seems to be not real and how we say in italian "of another planet", do you find any kind of similiraties in terms of sound between he and Django reinhart?...There's something in common..I know this is really a personal thing but it's interesting to hear also other opinior...yours or whoever is reading me now.. :D...The period is almost the same so maybe....:)
@Corey....thanks for feedback...Before Mike mentioned it, I didn't know Creole Belle!! I just listened once very fast just to hear how similar this tunes are....I'm glad to hear, even if this it's not our purpose, that it sounds a little like Creole Bell because in this period I was also studyin spike Driver Blues and maybe I just throw in this tune that licks unconsciously..In this terms it's not so bad, isn't it? there's small differences, it's true...I'm goin to study both and finally get to my result...Corey, I think I'm starting to have an idea of the sound I'd like to have on the guitar...more percussive...and have this idea of playin the guitar like a drum and this is even making me easier to understand the tune and find my own style...
@Mike....Thanks...I still feel like I'm goin out of tempo and I'm not really satisfied about the touch on the string...There's something missing...
One more thing...Great the new recording feature...It's easy to use and it's very usefull the opportunity to preview the video. the only thing I would suggest is to have the possibility to view the video in full screen. I can't..I don't know if it's my problem but I've tried with Safari and Chrome....I think that also for Corey would be more easier to catch the errors we do...
@Corey...no worries! I know that you're very busy with the new album and other even more important things...first time I saw it, as I told you before, I though that it was easy but at the same time if Corey wanted us to study, then there must be a reason and after tryin I understood why!!! It's interesting the way he plays the shuffle....never heard this kind of rhythm before..
I'll try to sing next time for the joy of everybody here!!!! :DDDDD
sorry one more question.....when will be available the new album?
ops one more thing Corey...I've changed the shot for purpose so you can see better how I am working with the right hand...look forward to hear you soon!!! Alex
@Corey...first time I saw the lesson I thought that this tune would have been easier than the others..Off I course I made a mistake....It's tough to stay in tempo doing the shuffle....Here's my video..I've added some little variations...
@Mike....you're the best as always!! Hope one day we all meet somewhere to make a kind of reunion of sonic junction students!!! :DDD
@corey...thanks....with this diferent shot I can see better how is workin the right hand but less the left hand...would be nice to have a mix of the two things! :))
@Corey...here's my last attempt...sorry I didn't have time to study the new licks..I've been pretty busy this week..I've tried to do something takin more care about dynamics..but it's really nothing special...this week has been tough!! :D
I think this is your best lesson..There's a lot of passion in it!!! thanks!! :))
A presto!! :))
@Corey...for sure it would be...one colour, one tone, one opinion....it's not only boring...it's the portrait of totalitarism... :))) I was speaking with Gordon in Olmedo and I was telling him...Corey is stressing a lot how important is dynamics when you play...and then he started...oh yeas dynamics, very important...yes, you know, because....and he started talkin, talkin and talkin with so much passion....Troppo forte!!! It must be a key concept for any professional musician :))) I'll try to sing in the next video and pay more attention to the waves and try to surf them :)))
@Bruno....thanks for your comment....for the second time if I remember well :)))..what about you? Are you studyin it?
@corey....in italian the word "monotono" (maybe also in French) has two meaning depending where the accent falls...if it's in the third O it means 1 tone....while if it's in the second...monòtono...it means boring........E' una persona monotona (noiosa)...literally....He's a monotonous person.....anyway the word is related to something that is considered boring....curious!! :))
Bumble bee???? Is it a metaphora used to define an annoying person???
@Corey thanks...sure it's like you say...It's all about right hand, isn't it? Touch the strings at different points of the guitar, with one finger or two fingers, muting them or not....combine all this things together it's what make the difference...I'm so fascinated about how different sounds you can get depending on how you work on the right hand...It's like driving a car....It's not only a matter of pushing on the accelaratore .
Bumble bee is really a nice song...It's even easier to sing...but what is the meanng of bumble bee?...I mean...for what it stands?
@Slughead.....I like this tune too. You can clearly hear the typicall Corey african blues sound..Post a video if you want. The more we are the more interesting become everything here. I'm a strong supporter of SJ because I understand and see how innovative it is and could help a lot of blues afictionados like us in playin the blues....I don't have any kind of economic advantages in doin this...just to be clear :))
@Corey...still workin on it...about singin I'll upload soon a video...Lyrics are pretty hard for me but above all it's to be in rithm guitar and voice....are you sure you want me try to sing in Falsetto? :DDDDD
@Corey...here's my last video recordin..Just tried to change something according to Tommy Johnson and Rory block Version....Today I've started workin also on Devele Wague of Ali Farka...It's in the album African blues....Is it in open a minor????? I've tried it standard but it was more difficoult to play...what do you think about it? could you take a look at the second part of the video?
Semi and I have been listening a lot in these days your album...It's really nice...My fav are Grandmama, runaway and Bam Bam

I've listened Motherless Child....nice one! ;))
@Mike...yes itìs very similir to Creole Belle....MJH and ML I think both influenced each other :)
Corey...it's just a first approach...I'm tryin to focus on the bass lines...It's pretty hard the alternating base on the I when I add the melody!
@Mike....Thanks...I still feel like I'm goin out of tempo and I'm not really satisfied about the touch on the string...There's something missing...
