Hey Duke Thanks for the correction. The Db(#11) and Ab 6/9 sound much better. And the Cm7 on the "Too".
I have listened to a lot of Los Indios Tabajaras (I'm getting sentimental..) over the years and can't help but that infuence here. I have to check if they have ever recorded this song.
One again Steve, great job. There is one chord that you're not fingering properly. It's the chord that goes with the vocal words LOVE YOU. And its a Db sharp11. First and second fingers should be on 3rd fret on the d and high E string and third and fourth fingers should be on the G and B strings on the fourth fret. When I move the chord up the neck in 2 fret intervals four times that is also the chord shape for that part also. On the asending whole tone part the final chord is an Ab 6/9 chord. Bar the D and G string at the 10 fret with your 1st finger and the B and E string with your 3rd finger,On the 11th fret. Also,on what would be,the word TOO. The chord is a simple C minor 7. Any questions feel free to ask. Duke
This is a a bit fast because my fingers were sore. I got a lot of catching up to do as i was in the great state of Florida for a while and away from my guitars. Love this and all Les Paul song. I was hoping to see him in Soho but it wasn't to be.
I have a lot of catching up to do. I have been trying to improve the audio of my posts and I hope i have been successful. I had initially recorded this using the bridge pick up and i would definitely use that pickup playing live but defaulted to the neck pick up for this post. Now that I feel my hardware issues have been adequately addressed i look forward to tackling the real issues - the lessons.
Under your fine tutelage I strive for my playing to continue to grow. And yes, the L5 is a beautiful instrument - I read that it can get you an audition, but you better have the goods to back it up. I'm working on it.
I have been recording lessons using my computer's on board mic and camera. I plan to use a separate mic for future lessons hopefully the sound quality will improve.
Hey Duke, This will continue to be a work in progress for me but i feel i am making progress none the less. I had recorded a version yesterday but today went back over the lessons to produce this piece. There are issues with the upload so this piece was recorded using the direct method. That being said i feel its all there. Some your's some mine, I started by copying your phrases as best i could, then as i kept playing it i would add my own to it. A major step for me was hearing the changes while soloing. So here i am so far, some yours some mine.

I don't think it exact to your take Duke but close. I took some liberty and embellished a bit at the end.
Thanks Duke
This song will be on the list for my band. Magic Sam version is also great and I'll steal the best feel from all versions - Ronnie Earl's too.
Cheers and hope you're feeling better.
Hi Bruce
Very nice. You make it seem effortless which is great. I am curious how you are recording. Are you using an interface?
Steve
Thanks Duke.
A work in progress.
