Being a blues player for many years i'am not use to switching keys, And i likely don't play a formal blues scale. Fortunately I did study major scale and have always been able to maintain this in my playing, even in the blues. So I understand what you say. I'll definitely be working on this.
I 'm not sure i can think on the fly in respect to ephasising 9ths, 3rds etc, if it sounds bad i try to slide up a half step. Good fun and i can't help but learn along the way.
Accompanying bass lines is not my strong point. Its kind of hit and miss. The D7 in the 1st does allow for this however, i am more inclined to play the D7 at the 5 fret where you can still fake the bass a bit with the root and F#, not as clean i admit.
Everyone else - come on people, show what's you got!
Hi Steve --- good question. Everything is public --- just like a Masterclass. That way everyone benefits from the interaction. I've heard from a lot of people that they love seeing videos --- so thanks again for posting.
I finally got a chance to put the solo together. It's still a work in progress with respect to the timing but i am happy with my understanding of the basics. I still am not at the improvisatioin point yet.
Absolutely, i too mention it to all the players i meet particularily at gigs. Spread the word.
Cheers

Thanks Duke,

Hey Duke
I am not sure of the scales to use for soloing. I will try to go with Ab blues scale with -C over the bridge. Any suggestions.
THis is my second take. If some of the licks sound familiar you're right. Thanks Duke!
Cheers

OK thanks Mike. Here it is again. What a great song. Thanks Duke. And look forward to the next lesson.
While playing the chords i can help but hear Sweet Geogia Brown - perhaps its the 4-4 rythym.
I got an extra note in the lead hook - chromatic run up.. But hey, what fun. Love it.
What a great song. Thanks Duke. And look forward to the next lesson.
Hi Steve --- it looks like your video upload didn't quite work. Can you try again?
Feel free to contact me via the Contact Us page if you have issues.
Thanks for being a part of Sonic Junction.
Excellent Duke!
Hoping to get to this ASAP.
By the way my band is hosting the after hours show on a bill with Jimmie Vaughan coming up mid August. Would be cool to chat. Cheers
The words aren't exact, I'll work on that.
This is fun. It took me awhile to learn that the singers get the girls. :)
Bless your heart
