I ve been jamming on this this morning. I came up with a structure for the versus but not the solo yet. So, its something borrowed and somethings stole.
Sweet Steve !! That is some tasty playing. What a great way to start the day. I like the double stop / hammer on riff --- and the open string thing twists my mind.
Great song Duke. I did the chords lesson and played along with lesson two. I listened to Peggy's verison and played over it from youtube. Looking forward to getting to this lesson and the backing track when it come up. by the way Is that a new casino?
there is more to this song than meets the ears. I am hearing the occasional 4 after the 5 with a piano bass runs back to the one. i also have a different into which i am hoping to upload this weekend. Charlie may play the accents after the 24 clarinet solo, up at the 13th fret roughly (Dm/Dm7b5/DmC9)
Yes yes, P90s. I used it the first day i got it for a show. I was promised a Super in the backline but our horn section set up in front of it before i had a chance to have them move it. I ended up using an amp with a bit too much dirt for me. Next time.
Hope the surgery went well. This i am calling Blues for Lady Gaga. We adopted an 8 month old miniature doxie a few weeks back named Lady Gaga. But she suffered separation anxiety so for her sake we sent her back to her pack. There will never be another but perhaps soon one that's close. She was so sweet and adorable with currly locks.
This is solo 1 and 2. I still have a long way to go on this. The timing is a challenge. I understand the phrasing, its when i try to put them all together that's the challenge. I understand the reverb is a bit excessive.
It is a great song and Paul did a wonderful job putting together this solo. Thanks to both of you.
Love Les Paul,
Thanks Duke

Looking forward to this series after I clear Gate's Okie Dokie Stomp from the to do list. Good thing youtube has a 50% speed option. :)
I read that B developed his vibrato as a sub for bottle neck slide.
Yeah, he said it was slide guitar, Hawaiian steel guitar, and singers that inspired it.
Great progression. I will keep at this to smooth it out, particularily the dimished.

Thanks Duke

We could try improvising over Paul's chord lesson. I'll put that in my to do list.

Steve
I am hearing things here that i hopefully can incorporate into my swing licks.

Wow, the tricky part for me here is coming out of the B back into the A.

Hi Duke and Paul
I tend to add a jump beat on the Bbm and F, away from the 4 4. Is this a problem?
Cheers
Steve
Thanks Duke
Looking forward to the next lesson.
